Becky Lynch Defends Controversial WWE RAW Decision, Fires Shots At Ex-Champion
Becky Lynch won the Women’s Intercontinental Championship from Maxxine Dupri on the January 5th, 2026, edition of WWE RAW.
Ever since losing it to Dupri in November 2025, Becky Lynch had been claiming that the championship reign was invalid since AJ Lee appeared ringside and distracted Lynch.
Her arguments were based on the fact that AJ Lee did not have a manager’s license and the State of New York does not allow anyone ringside without a proper license. So, the referee should have stopped the match, or Adam Pearce should not have allowed the championship to change hands.
Becky Lynch defended her actions
On WWE RAW, The Man went up against Maxxine Dupri. While Dupri had her moments, Becky Lynch had sneaky tactics up her sleeve. To secure the win, Lynch used the ropes to her advantage. The referee did not see it and awarded the victory to her.
Now, Lynch came under fire for cheating during the match, especially after being high and mighty about being “cheated” previously. She took to social media to defend her actions, claiming that she won fair and square and is smarter than her opponent!
I won FAIR and SQUARE (EXCELLENT officiating by the way)!!! I can’t help that I’m SMARTER, FASTER, and BETTER than DEFUNCT DUPRI!!! Maybe she should have trained HARDER instead of making wedding TIKTOKS!!! TOTAL LOSER!!!
