Becky Lynch is returning to NXT for the first time since 2019.
Now that she has concluded her long rivalry with Trish Stratus, Becky Lynch is setting her eyes on a new target…and appears to have found one in Tiffany Stratton.
On the September 4th edition of RAW, Lynch and Stratton had a short exchange that ended with Lynch saying she might be seeing Stratton soon.
The following night, Stratton had a big match as she defended her NXT Women’s Championship against Kiana James. Stratton won and celebrated her successful title defense, but her victory was cut short when Lynch appeared on the TitanTron and made a big announcement.
Lynch noted that the NXT Women’s Championship is the one singles title that has eluded her and she thinks that now is the perfect time for her to claim that prize. And so, Lynch challenged Stratton to a title match for the September 12th edition of NXT and Stratton accepted.
Becky Lynch looks to add another title to her collection
Lynch is recognized by WWE as a six-time women’s world champion, having won the RAW Women’s title twice and the SmackDown Women’s title four times. Additionally, she won the 2019 Women’s Royal Rumble match and won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships once with Lita.
The last time Lynch was on NXT was on that show’s 500th episode, on which she and Rhea Ripley fought to a no contest. Prior to that, she made a handful of appearances on the black-and-gold brand during the second half of 2015.
