Becky Lynch Addresses Shocking WWE Allegation
Becky Lynch recently cleared the air on an allegation levied against her.
‘The Man’ has been involved in a long-standing feud with AJ Lee, which started in September last year. It culminated in an Intercontinental Championship match between them at Elimination Chamber.
At the event, Lee defeated Lynch to become the Women’s Intercontinental Champion for the first time in her career.
While addressing her victory on Raw, Lee vowed to be a fighting champion, as she put the entire women’s division on notice, while encouraging her peers to put their name in the hat.
Despite the challenge, her rivalry with Becky Lynch has continued and has gotten personal over time.
On the March 23 taping of the red brand, Lynch claimed that her daughter, Roux, was an AJ Lee fan, often singing and dancing to her theme song. Becky Lynch appeared annoyed at the notion, even stating that AJ Lee represented the Divas Era, but Lynch ended that era.
It prompted Lee to come out and confront her. Lee said that every time the two wrestlers competed, she made Lynch walk like a dog.
She then put her IC title on the line against Lynch at WrestleMania 42, hoping to remind her why she was the best of her generation.
At WrestleMania 41 last year, Becky Lynch returned after an 11-month absence, replacing Bayley in the Women’s Tag Team match to team up with Lyra Valkyria against The Judgment Day. Meanwhile, it will be AJ Lee’s first WrestleMania appearance in as many years.
Becky Lynch Addresses Accusations Of Not Putting Other Wrestlers Over
Since returning to WWE last year, Becky Lynch has not challenged for the Women’s Championship and has spent all her time on the mid-card.
She defeated Lyra Valkyria at last year’s Money in the Bank PLE to become only the second Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
Lynch has been signed with the Stamford promotion for 13 years, becoming the 7-time singles world champion and a 1-time NXT Women’s Champion. She has also held the women’s tag titles twice.
During a recent appearance on Chris Val Vliet’s Insight podcast, the host brought up accusation about her not putting over other wrestlers. In doing so, he listed several names while claiming that he did not understand where the allegation came from.
Responding to the topic, the 39-year-old wrestler claimed that no one in the wrestling business was safe from that particular allegation. She also encouraged fans to have their opinions, but she would continue doing what she felt was best in a situation.
I don’t know. I think that’s when you’re the top of the card, it happens to everybody. Nobody is unscathed. It was Sami Hogan. It might still be Sami Hogan. It’s Cody Hogan, it’s Roman Hogan, Seth Hogan, we’re all Hogan, which say what you will about the man, one of the biggest stars to ever exist. So, yeah, I think it becomes this thing.
People don’t understand how creative happens and if they see somebody that is in a preferable spot for a long period of time, they go, okay, that’s because that person is politicking and trying to hold everybody down. So, you know, it’s just people don’t know how it happens, and they don’t know what goes into it, and that’s fine, you know?
