Bayley Names WWE Star That Helped Her Recover After WrestleMania Snub
Bayley has explained how one WWE star got her through the year after she was cruelly left out in the cold at WrestleMania.
Bayley was set to team with Lyra Valkyria to challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, but that didn’t pan out. Instead, the Role Model was the victim of a mysterious backstage attack, which left Valkyria in need of a partner.
That gave Becky Lynch the chance to make her huge return to the company, winning gold with Valkyria. One night later, Lynch and Valkyria lost their gold before Lynch violently turned on her partner. Becky Lynch then revealed that she was also behind the sneak attack on Bayley.
Bayley Leaned On WWE Star For Support
Speaking on No Contest Wrestling, Bayley explained that after her WrestleMania heartache, Lyra Valkyria really helped pick her back up for the rest of the year:
I’ve told her, I don’t think I would have gotten through this last year as positively as I have without her. She’s so new to the roster still where she’s like fresh, doe-eyed, like, ‘Don’t give up man’ and I’m like, ‘It’s freaking hard sometimes, I got beat up and taken off WrestleMania alright, I’m allowed to be mad.’ And she’s like, ‘It’s ok.’
I feel like I needed her to keep pushing me in times that I’m just like, this old lady, like ‘I’ve been through this, it’ll be ok though,’ and she’s like, ‘No, we’re gonna fight and we’re gonna get better.’ And I’m kind of that for her too, I want to bring out the true Lyra, the one that I know, the one that the locker room knows, which is just going to make her a million times better. She’s so much more than what she is in the ring. [h/t WrestleTalk]
