Batista Confirms Truth Behind Scrapped WWE Hall Of Fame Induction
Despite being previously announced as an inductee, former World Heavyweight Champion Batista still isn’t part of the WWE Hall of Fame.
Batista was originally set to be inducted in 2020 and was announced ahead of time but the ceremony had to be scrapped due to the COVID pandemic which also caused WrestleMania 36 to be held in front of no fans.
While the rest of the Class of 2020 was inducted in 2021, Batista was still absent as his movie commitments left him unable to attend and his induction was postponed until a later date.
Rumors went into overdrive as WrestleMania went Hollywood in 2023 that now would be the time for The Animal to be inducted but again movie commitments seemed to get in the way, something the star himself has now confirmed.
Speaking with CoolKicks, Batista confirmed that he was not at WrestleMania 39 and had to turn down WWE’s approach to go into the Hall of Fame because he was committed to being in South Africa for a movie:
“No. I was in South Africa. I was supposed to go into the Hall Of Fame, but I was on this film I was committed to. I couldn’t get out of it.”

Batista brought down the curtain on his in-ring career in 2019 when Triple H gave him what he wanted and faced off with his former protege at WrestleMania 35. Triple H won that No Holds Barred match between the former Evolution teammates, avenging his loss from 2005 on the grandest stage of them all.
