Tiffany Stratton Defending Title At WWE Night Of Champions Against Familiar Opponent
Tiffany Stratton has a date with destiny at WWE Night of Champions.
Stratton had an unforgettable 2025, when she held the Women’s Championship for 301 days after cashing in her Money in the Bank contract on her then-friend Nia Jax.
She remained undefeated in singles competition throughout the year, until Crown Jewel in October, that is, where she lost to Stephanie Vaquer.
Her second and final defeat of the year came against Jade Cargill at November’s Saturday Night’s Main Event, where Stratton dropped her title. She was also dealing with a legitimate injury at the time, which resulted in her being written off TV.
As fans wondered about her WWE future, Tiffany Stratton made a spectacular return at the Royal Rumble event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, entering the namesake women’s match at #30.
Despite being placed in an advantageous position, the 27-year-old failed to snatch a win, as Liv Morgan walked away with the glory.
While she subsequently entered a feud with the then-Women’s United States Champion Giulia, Stratton missed out on a WrestleMania appearance. She defeated the Japanese wrestler to become the new US Champion on the April 24 edition of SmackDown.
Stratton now heads back to Saudi Arabia for WWE Night of Champions, where she will face an old nemesis.
Jade Cargill Named Tiffany Stratton’s Opponent At WWE Night Of Champions
After defeating Tiffany Stratton in November, Jade Cargill held the Women’s Championship till WrestleMania 42, where she was beaten by Rhea Ripley.
In their return match at Clash in Italy, Cargill suffered another defeat, thus ending her rivalry with the Australian superstar.
Stratton, meanwhile, was paired with Charlotte Flair, much to her dismay, but the pairing also renewed her feud with The Storm, who had become a thorn in the side of many women backstage.
On the June 12 taping of SmackDown, she cost Cargill the chance to qualify for the semi-finals of the Queen of the Ring. Later in the night, she was taken out by Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab, after which Cargill indicated that she was coming after her championship.
The last time Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill squared off in singles competition, Stratton not only lost the match but also the top prize in the SmackDown women’s division.
At Night of Champions, Stratton will again enter the bout as the champion, with Cargill looking to repeat her November 2025 heroics against a familiar opponent.
Tiffany Stratton Determined To Never Lose WrestleMania Spot Again
Many WWE fans believed that not featuring Tiffany and Giulia on the WrestleMania 42 card was a mistake, as they had an ongoing rivalry. It also meant that one of the titles was not defended at the Grandest Stage of Them All.
After winning the Women’s US title, Stratton spoke to Joey Karni, where she revealed the disappointment of missing the Mania spot.
She also claimed that she was determined to do everything in her power so that it never happened again.
I feel like my mindset has always been just kind of controlling what I can control, which is making the most out of all my segments, making the most out of my matches, making sure I’m delivering on everything and having really good matches with everybody.
And unfortunately, being on WrestleMania wasn’t in the cards for me this year. However, that just kind of leaves me with a chip on my shoulder for next year, and I’m going to do everything in my power to never let that happen ever again.
