Backstage Opposition To Danhausen’s WWE Signing Revealed
Danhausen is now a full-time talent at WWE.
The revelation came after weeks-long segments that involved a crate that was transported back and forth multiple times between Raw and SmackDown.
Ultimately, the managers of both shows decided that they would open the box at the Elimination Chamber, as instructed.
Upon unveiling the crate, it revealed a coffin from which eight women ran out and danced around the entranceway. They were followed by Danhausen, who recently quit AEW after his contract ended.
While his segment was not extensive, it did involve him approaching the commentator’s desk, where he handed Michael Cole a glass container full of teeth.
He then went into the ring and posed for the audience before the lights went out.
The reaction to the 35-year-old was mixed from the Chicago crowd, with visible boos also heard in The United Center.
Danhausen’s WWE Signing Faced Objections Backstage
Danhausen had a forgettable run in All Elite Wrestling as he was rarely given any TV time, forcing him to accept gigs in the independent circuit.
After his departure from the company, he was removed from AEW’s official roster page.
On a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that the WWE’s newest star’s signing faced its share of objection backstage.
People pushed for him, and there were people who didn’t want him. This was not a unanimous decision or anything like that. I would guess that the people who didn’t want him are thinking, ‘Hmm, sure didn’t work out so well this time.’
But in time, time will tell. He’ll get another chance. Maybe he’ll be the Gobbledy Gooker and maybe he’ll be R-Truth – one or the other. [H/T: Ringside News]
Meanwhile, Danhausen is expected to appear on the March 2 taping of WWE Raw.
