Backstage News Regarding How WWE Views AJ Styles

AJ Styles has returned to WWE after several months away and there are details about how he is viewed by the company.

At the end of the December 15th episode of SmackDown in Green Bay, former two-time WWE Champion AJ Styles made his return to the blue brand after being taken out by The Bloodline on September 15th.

There was a brawl to end the show with Randy Orton and LA Knight working together against The Bloodline’s Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso & Solo Sikoa. That’s when AJ Styles appeared on the other side of the ring to deliver a flying forearm to Reigns. The trio of Orton, Knight and Styles cleared the ring.

While it appeared that Styles was on the same side as Orton and Knight, Styles’ actions appeared to prove otherwise. That’s because Styles nailed an unsuspecting Knight with a running clothesline to knock the Megastar down.

It has been reported by Fightful Select that just because Styles attacked Knight, it doesn’t mean that Styles is a heel. Fightful’s story noted that sources believe that as of now, Styles was justified in his attack on Knight. It was described as a “choose your own adventure” story for Styles. In other words, Styles may feel like Knight is against him and that’s why he attacked him.

It was also noted that WWE’s creative plans can change, so perhaps Styles could become a heel.

Who Will AJ Styles Face On WWE SmackDown?

On the December 22nd episode of Smackdown that was taped after the December 15th episode, AJ Styles will be in action against Solo Sikoa. The preview from WWE’s website is as follows.

“The Phenomenal One is officially back and he has his eyes set on The Bloodline.

AJ Styles returned to the blue brand on the Dec. 15 edition of SmackDown and immediately confronted Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa, prompting The Bloodline to retreat and recover.

In order to get to Reigns, Styles will have to go through The Enforcer and that match is Friday at 8/7 C on FOX!”

We will have a review of WWE SmackDown on TJRWrestling later this evening.
