Backstage Details Emerge On The Rock’s Daughter’s WWE Exit
On January 30, the general manager of NXT, Ava, decided against renewing her contract.
Ava, who is The Rock’s daughter, informed the WWE Universe about her decision to leave the company through social media posts on Instagram and X.
It is currently unknown whether the decision is tied to the release of her girlfriend, Tatyanna Dumas, who performed on NXT and was also a part of Legends & Future Greats (LFG).
Ava joined the Stamford-based company in February 2020 before making her first televised appearance on the developmental brand in October 2022.
She was introduced as Ava Raine and was a member of the heel faction, Schism. The group disintegrated by late 2023, following which she earned the role of Shawn Michaels’ on-screen assistant.
In January 2024, she was appointed as the general manager of WWE’s NXT brand, a role she held until deciding to leave the company.
New Details About Ava’s WWE Departure
Speaking on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed the departure of The Rock’s daughter, Ava, from NXT.
Meltzer revealed that the 24-year-old did not want to perform in the same role any longer, and there was no other reason.
I’ve talked to and heard from several people and the general thing was is just she didn’t want to do it anymore. There was no compelling reason.
It was just one of those things where her parents own a studio and they thought that she’s probably going to end up working there. She doesn’t have to do it.
Ava’s current storyline featured an angle involving Tony D’Angelo, who had turned rogue by attacking several WWE talents since returning to the company at NXT Deadline in December.
