Anna Jay’s AEW Status Amid Rumored WWE Jump
An update regarding Anna Jay’s AEW contract has surfaced.
The 27-year-old last competed in the Jacksonville promotion during the November 19 episode of Collision, where she and Tay Melo suffered a defeat at the hands of Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne in the quarter-final of the Women’s World Tag Team Title tournament.
It was earlier reported that her contract was up in the Spring of 2026. However, Dave Meltzer wrote in a Wrestling Observer Newsletter that her contract was ending sooner.
Meltzer claimed that her contract ends early in the new year, with negotiations already being underway.
Anna Jay’s contract is up early in the new year and talk is that she’s open to other options. It is notable she hasn’t been on television since losing in the tag team tournament. And she’s not on the women focused on.
He further stated that Tony Khan has purposely kept her off AEW TV as she was nearing the end of her contract.
If she doesn’t sign a new deal, I would doubt she would be put back on television since that’s Tony Khan’s M.O.
Anna Jay Has Been Rumored To Jump Ship To WWE From AEW
Amid discussions about her AEW contract, there have been rumors about Anna Jay switching promotions to appear on WWE.
A follow-up update provided by Sean Ross Sapp has shed light on the wrestler’s contract situation.
During a recent Fightful Select Q&A session, he was questioned about Jay’s absence from programming and whether he knew of any developments.
He claimed that he had not heard about any new creative plans for her.
I have not heard that she’s been around a bunch or anything. She hasn’t been used on TV. I haven’t heard of any creative plans or anything like that. Her deal is up in a few months, I believe.
If I were NXT, I’d be trying to get her, because I think she’d be perfect for it. I know a lot of people think, ‘Oh my God, well she’s dating Jack Perry,’ no — they’ll hire whoever. They don’t care if anybody’s got an issue. [H/T: Ringside News]
With no clear update on her contract situation, it will be interesting to see whether she signs a new deal with her current employer.
