The character change Alexa Bliss underwent in WWE inspired a younger wrestler in AEW.

When Alexa Bliss started in WWE in the mid-2010s, she was known as a cheerleader-type character who was finding her way on the roster.

By the time Alexa Bliss got to the main roster, she exceeded many people’s expectations by becoming an excellent heel and babyface. Bliss went on to win 5 Women’s Titles in her career, which will see her inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame one day.

Later in the 2010s, Bliss became a darker, heelish character influenced by Bray Wyatt and even had supernatural powers at times. While that gimmick change may have surprised people, Bliss did the best she could with it and showed she could become a completely different type of character.

Alexa Bliss’ Career Influenced Julia Hart

AEW’s Julia Hart also went from a cheerleader-type character to a darker heel as part of the House of Black. Now, as one of the members of the Triangle of Madness group, Hart maintains that a darker character who isn’t out there smiling or trying to win over the crowd.

While speaking to ITRWrestling, former AEW TBS Champion Julia Hart admitted that Alexa Bliss has been a big influence on her career.

“I didn’t look at her career and think, ‘I want to do exactly that.’ She definitely was a big influence and I definitely grew up loving her and watching her. So I would go back and use her as a reference, but I never directly went like this is what I was going to do. I wanted to be a cheerleader because I was a cheerleader in real life in high school and I had no other character ideas. It was just kind of that.

We were then put in a program with Malakai [Black] and I was like I want to be on TV more and I wanted to ask like ‘How can I make this a story’ and he was fully on board with me and worked with me and helped me and Brody [King] and Buddy [Matthews] helped as well. And then Tony [Khan] brought it to life. It was just trying to figure out how can I get out of this loop and get to the next level.”

As for Alexa Bliss, her main focus is on becoming a Women’s Tag Team Champion again with Charlotte Flair. The Bliss & Flair team will face The Bella Twins on the March 27th edition of SmackDown.
