AEW Stars Eliminated From Continental Classic

Jon Moxley chokes Jay Lethal AEW

The Continental Classic rumbled on in Montreal on Dynamite but three AEW stars can now no longer progress in the competition.

Every competitor in the Gold League has now competed in three Continental Classic matches with only two round-robin bouts left following Dynamite in Montreal.

On that show, Jon Moxley maintained his perfect record as he defeated Rush by referee stoppage. Swerve Strickland also boasts an unblemished record in the Continental Classic and that remained intact as he picked up a win over Mark Briscoe.

The other Gold League bout on Dynamite saw Jay Lethal lose to Bullet Club Gold’s Jay White. As a consequence of those results, both Mark Briscoe and Jay Lethal can no longer progress in the tournament as they languish on zero points.

At Dynamite Winter Is Coming on December 13th, the Gold League will continue as undefeated stars Jon Moxley and Swerve Strickland clash. Jay White will take on Mark Briscoe and Rush will face Jay Lethal in a battle of former ROH World Champions. If Rush fails to win then he will also be eliminated while Strickland will qualify for the league finals with a win over Moxley, Moxley would almost certainly be assured of the same should he beat Strickland.

Blue League Action On AEW Rampage

Bryan Danielson took on Daniel Garcia on the Rampage that will air on December 8th. In a resurrection of the two men’s rivalry, Bryan Danielson picked up the win via LeBell Lock giving Garcia his third defeat in the company meaning he was also eliminated from the competition.

Garcia still has Brody King and Eddie Kingston to face in the Continental Classic and will hope to pick up at least one win before his campaign is over.
