Shelton Benjamin has been a part of professional wrestling since 2000.

He had two stints with WWE, the last ending in September 2023 when he was released from his contract. He joined AEW in 2024 after briefly competing in the independent circuit.

He is signed to the Jacksonville-based promotion, where he is part of The Hurt Syndicate alongside MVP and Bobby Lashley. The duo has previously served as the World Tag Team Champions in the company once.

Shelton Benjamin is scheduled to compete at the Double Or Nothing pay-per-view, scheduled on May 24 at Louis Armstrong Stadium in New York.

He will be featured in a Stadium Stampede match, teaming up with Bobby Lashley, Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, Jack Perry, and Matt & Nick Jackson against Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona, Mark Davis, Andrade El Idolo, Clark Connors, and David Finlay.

The Hurt Syndicate returned to AEW television in April following a nearly 5-month hiatus. They were introduced in a storyline with Chris Jericho, who had been feuding with The Demand’s Ricochet.

Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley teamed up with Chris Jericho to face the heel trio on the April 22 episode of Collision, but suffered a loss after Ricochet pinned Jericho.

AEW’s Shelton Benjamin Reflects On The Physical Toll Of Wrestling For Two Decades

Shelton Benjamin has been a pro wrestler for more than 25 years, representing different promotions around the world.

The 50-year-old AEW star recently appeared on Busted Open Radio, where he revealed the physical toll of having competed in the sport for over two decades.

In doing so, he claimed that his hands have gone numb on occasion for no reason. He also stressed the importance of staying fit, which was essential for his longevity in the industry.

I’m on my 26th year of being (a) pro wrestler and you know, even uncomfortable positions, there’s still times when my hands will go numb for no reason and things like that so, it’s really important these days for me, to one, stay in shape because at this point, it’s use it or lose it.

So that’s why I stay in shape, and I’m really serious about my health these days. Both for work and for my quality of life. That’s why you see all these workout videos, and as you guys know, I never worked out before so now these last few years, I really changed my lifestyle to incorporate more training. So, yeah, health is important. [H/T: Fightful]

At AEW Double Or Nothing, MJF will challenge Darby Allin for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship while also putting his hair on the line in a Hair vs. Title match.
