A current talent on the AEW roster has ruled out the possibility of jumping ship to WWE.

Shawn Dean is an active member of the Shane Taylor Promotions faction alongside Shane Taylor, Trish Adora, Lee Moriarty, Anthony Ogogo, Charlie Bravo, and Christyan XO.

The group had recently been involved in a brief feud with Jon Moxley’s Death Riders, setting up multiple feuds among its members.

After Taylor’s loss to Moxley on Dynamite for the AEW Continental Championship, the members of both factions brawled, leading to STP walking away as the dominant group.

The Death Riders and Shane Taylor Promotions, including Shawn Dean, competed in a Cincinnati Street Fight on the June 13 edition of Collision, where Moxley & Co. came out on top after a nearly 25-minute battle.

Shawn Dean Happy Representing AEW At The Moment

Shawn Dean has been a part of AEW for 6 years now, having debuted in the Jacksonville promotion on the March 31, 2020, episode of Dark.

The 40-year-old recently appeared for an interview on the Kings of the Ring and Digital Brick Network podcast, where he was asked about the possibility of joining WWE in the future.

In response, Dean claimed that he was happy in All Elite Wrestling at the moment because he held a respectable position among his peers.

Uh, man, I think like at the moment I don’t, you know what I’m saying? And that’s just because at AEW, I have carved out a lane for myself. I’ve put myself in a position to where I’m respected by my peers. I’m making a difference and I’m part of something that’s growing, something that’s going to be around for a long time.

Dean further clarified that he did not see himself wrestling for another decade or so, as he was focused on shaping the next generation of wrestlers. So, even if he signed with WWE, his stint there would not be long.

So for me, even if that time was to come in 10, 15 years, in 10, 15 years I don’t plan on wrestling that long. So I want to be able, I’m already in a position now where I’m changing the future and establishing the next crop of people. So for me at the moment right now, man, AEW is where my heart is at.

He also praised his current employer for creating opportunities for many talented wrestlers.

AEW has opened the door for so many people to get exposure that it’s really crazy how it changed the game for wrestling in general. You went from one entity running the whole thing to now you got another one that’s producing just as much talent, if not better talent, on this side.

I want to be on a side where we’re continuing to change and grow and knowing that I got a part in that. That’s my place in history. I choose legacy over fame any day. [H/T: Ringside News]
