AEW Star Eddie Kingston’s Surgery Date Revealed

Eddie Kingston

Eddie Kingston faces surgery for his serious injury and now it’s been confirmed when the AEW star will go under the knife.

At NJPW Resurgence, Eddie Kingston’s run as NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion came to a brutal end at the hands of Gabe Kidd. The no-ropes match was a stunningly violent 20 minutes of action, but the match’s decisive set piece didn’t go off as planned.

As the match was nearing its climax, Kingston took a Suplex from the ring apron through a table to the floor. However, it was Kingston’s leg and knee that took the brunt of the impact smashing against the guardrail. Despite being in obvious and tremendous pain the star completed the post-match angle (an attack by the Young Bucks) as planned before slowly heading backstage.

Eddie Kingston Faces July Surgery

In the days after the event it was revealed Eddie Kingston had not only suffered a broken leg but a torn ACL and meniscus.

PWInsider has confirmed that Kingston will go under the knife on Monday, July 8th. The former Continental Crown Champion then faces another 10 months out recovering after that making his status for Double Or Nothing in 2025 uncertain.

The reason for the delay in the surgery is because Kingston’s broken tibia needs to heal before he can go under the knife to repair his damaged ligaments.
