Major AEW Star Returns To Singles Action After 15 Months On Dynamite

A massive night of action was planned for the go-home episode of AEW Dynamite ahead of this Sunday’s AEW Redemption.

In addition to a massive TNT Championship match that saw Darby Allin fail in his attempt to dethrone Kevin Knight as champion, a huge star made his in-ring return.

The leader of the Bang Bang Gang, Jay White, had a 2025 which was riddled with injuries. He hadn’t been seen for much of last year before making his recent return.

Since returning, the Bang Bang Gang have been in a feud with the Dogs given the animosity between White and the Dogs’ David Finlay.

Former Bullet Club leaders clash on AEW Dynamite

The two used to be friends in the Bullet Club before Finlay turned on White and kicked him out of the group to become the new leader.

Tonight, the Switchblade made his singles return to the ring after 15 months as he faced The Dogs’ Clarke Connors. He emerged victorious after making Connors tap out.

This was White’s first singles Dynamite match since March 2025, when he defeated Max Caster in less than a minute. Following the match, Connors looked to attack him, but he hit him with the Switchblade.

As he was occupied with Connors, Finlay snuck up behind White and clubbed him with his shillelagh to Jay’s head. He was then run off from there as the rest of Bang Bang Gang rushed to the ring.
