AEW Snap Up Signings Of Several CMLL Stars; Contract Status Revealed
AEW and CMLL have been in a working agreement since October 2023, where talent from each company can appear on the other’s shows.
Under this arrangement, All Elite stars like Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, and others have wrestled on CMLL shows, while CMLL luchadores such as Mistico, Hechicero, and others have appeared on All Elite and ROH TV.
The partnership is designed to help develop talent and give wrestlers exposure in both the U.S. and Mexican markets and is part of a broader network that also includes AEW’s partnerships with NJPW, Stardom, and ROH, creating a global talent exchange.
That said, this partnership has deepened further as Tony Khan has signed three major CMLL stars.
CMLL Stars Dorada, Persephone, And Hechicero Join AEW Roster
Dorada, one of CMLL’s fan favorites, officially signed a dual contract with All Elite Wrestling and Mexico’s Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. The deal was announced on CMLL’s weekly show CMLL Informa on January 14, 2026, where it was confirmed that he now belongs to both promotions.
Persephone, a rising star in CMLL’s women’s division, also signed a dual contract with CMLL and AEW at the same time. Hechicero had already been working for All Elite Wrestling and ROH while still under contract with CMLL. Tony Khan recently confirmed that the Mexican luchador has also signed a dual contract with both promotions.
Khan tweeted, “He’s been a top star in @CMLL_OFICIAL, in @ringofhonor, and in @AEW, and with his dual contract, he is also All Elite! It’s great to have @_ReyHechicero officially in AEW!”
