It was a big night for some AEW stars in El Paso, Texas on Wednesday night with new champions crowned on an action-packed show.

Dynamite saw both the AEW World and Women’s Champions in action in eliminator matches with future title shots on the line. MJF saw off the thorn in his side in recent weeks, newcomer Konosuke Takeshita meaning he will likely be the champion heading into the Revolution pay-per-view in March.

Jamie Hayter faced the challenge of The Bunny with the champion winning in a match that appeared to be cut short due to an injury suffered by The Bunny. After the match, Saraya and Toni Storm continued their villainous ways as they attacked AEW original Leva Bates and spray-painted an L on her back that presumably doesn’t stand for Leva.

In the night’s main event, The Acclaimed put their AEW World Tag Team Championship on the line against The Gunns. Pre-match the champions discussed strategy with Billy Gunn and all three agreed that Gunn wouldn’t be at ringside for the bout.

Following the referee going down Daddy Ass did make his presence felt, briefly teasing siding with his biological sons before he was taken out with a title belt to the head. A title belt proved pivotal in the outcome of the match with The Gunns picking up the win and the championship as the Texas crowd showed their disapproval with chants of “bullsh*t.”

The Gunns are now the tenth team to hold the championship that was first held by SoCal Uncensored back in October 2019.
