Top AEW Champion Walks Away After Surviving Huge Scare At Dynasty
Thekla and Jamie Hayter’s AEW feud dates back to May 2025.
Thekla practically debuted in the company at Hayter’s expense by attacking her while making her first appearance.
The Austrian wrestler became the Women’s World Champion by defeating Kris Statlander during the February 11 taping of Dynamite. At Revolution, she successfully defended her title against Statlander in a 2 out of 3 falls match.
While Toni Storm revealed her intention to challenge for the gold, she was taken out of the equation with an attack backstage. Reports later confirmed that Storm would miss the remainder of 2026.
Jamie Hayter, who recently formed an alliance with her compatriot Alex Windsor as the Brawling Birds, stepped up to challenge The Toxic Spider.
Thekla Scores Cheap Over Jamie Hayter Win At AEW Dynasty
During AEW Dynasty Zero Hour, Alex Windsor defeated Marina Shafir in a singles match, giving Jamie Hayter the much-needed motivation ahead of her bout against Thekla.
As expected, both women threw hard hands at each other, with the action briefly spiraling out of the ring.
The women’s champion dominated the majority of the fight, even applying her Octopus Hold submission to leave the challenger gasping for air.
Hayter fought back by hitting a couple of lariats and winning a near pinfall with a Liger Bomb.
Thekla secured a pinfall by grabbing the bottom rope behind the referee’s back. Hayter’s tag partner, Alex Windsor, arrived by the ringside to protest, but to no avail.
