AEW Champion Labels Tony Khan Creative Decision “Bullsh*t”

At Double Or Nothing, Toni Storm stunned the crowd and Jamie Hayter when she captured the AEW Women’s Championship, however, the new champion had some harsh words for Tony Khan.

The war between The Outcasts and the rest of AEW’s women’s division took its latest twist at Double Or Nothing when Toni Storm took advantage of an apparently injured Jamie Hayter to win gold for the second time in her AEW career.

Storm first captured the AEW Women’s Championship back at All Out 2022 but that win came under something of a cloud. Former champion Thunder Rosa announced she was unable to compete at All Out due to injury and instead, a four-way match was held with the winner being referred to as Interim Women’s Champion. Toni Storm won that title but the “interim” term didn’t sit too well with the star.

Speaking at the post-Double Or Nothing press conference, Toni Storm noted, while sitting next to Tony Khan that this win felt even more special because of the uncertain nature of her last title reign:

“It felt extra special this time. I’m sure we can all agree that the interim thing was bullsh*t. Right, Tony? Crazy. That was a tough, terrible time. It feels great because this is what it should have been the whole time.”

With Thunder Rosa continuing to miss time from the ring, it was decided in November following Jamie Hayter capturing the title that La Mera Mera would be stripped of the gold and both Hayter’s reign and Toni Storm’s first reign would be considered full reigns as official AEW Women’s Champion.

Double Or Nothing was not a great night to be a women’s champion in AEW as TBS Champion Jade Cargill lost her title in shocking circumstances as well.
