Ronda Rousey made her first AEW appearance at Revolution on March 15.

On the eve of the pay-per-view, the promotion’s president, Tony Khan, had claimed potential celebrity appearances without confirming any names.

Rousey made her presence felt in the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles after Toni Storm’s victory over Marina Shafir.

As Storm celebrated her victory on the stage, Rousey jumped into the ring and ordered Toni to get in with her. Both women then came face-to-face but were separated by a large number of security personnel.

While speaking on The Coach & Bro podcast, former WWE head writer Vince Russo pointed out AEW’s major mistake, which was not advertising Ronda Rousey for the show.

This is a typical ‘you’re kayfabeing yourself.’ Why wouldn’t you want them to know Ronda Rousey is going to be on the show? Then guess what? You might get people to tune in to the show. That’s called kayfabing yourself. They wanted Ronda to be this big surprise. Why? Advertise she’s gonna be on the show. Don’t hide her. Get it out there in social media. Ronda Rousey’s gonna be on AEW, and guess what? Maybe you’ll have some more people watching the show. So, all around, this was absolutely ridiculous. [22:27 onwards]

Ronda Rousey’s AEW Appearance Was A One-Off

Ronda Rousey’s AEW debut got people talking.

Wrestling fans around tuned in for the subsequent Dynamite taping for a follow-up on the Rousey situation. However, she was nowhere to be seen.

Later, a report by PWInsider revealed the unfortunate nature of her deal with the Jacksonville-based company.

The report claimed that Rousey’s appearance was a one-off, and there were no storylines written for her.

Ronda Rousey is also not expected back anytime soon. Rousey’s appearance at AEW Revolution was, as of now, just a one-off appearance designed to promote her MMA return and appear in support of Marina Shafir, who she has been close friends with for many years.
