Adam Cole Returns On AEW Dynamite

Adam Cole

Adam Cole returned to All Elite Wrestling for the first time in months, updating fans on his medical condition!

At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door back in June, Adam Cole competed in a fatal four way match for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Jay White was victorious on that occasion, pinning Cole to retain his title. However, fans noticed that the former Undisputed Era leader looked like he was trying to kick out, and it turned out that he had suffered a serious concussion during the bout.

As months went on without the star being cleared, the situation seemed very concerning and fans wondered if he would ever be able to return to in-ring competition.

However, following Hangman Adam Page’s victory over Jon Moxley on AEW Dynamite, Tony Schiavone stood in the ring and brought out a special guest for an interview: Adam Cole himself.

After receiving an overwhelming ovation during his entrance, the star took to the microphone and asked if the crowd was ready for “story time with Adam Cole.” He recounted his journey in professional wrestling, saying this had been his dream since he was a child.

Cole then launched into his experience after suffering his debilitating concussion, saying that he visited doctors regularly and underwent regular testing. He then poured his heart out about his difficulties sleeping, saying that his wife Britt Baker was concerned for him as he paced in the middle of the night.

Going on, Adam Cole thanked his fans and supporters for reaching out with words of concern, saying that many people expressed the belief that even if he never wrestled again, they wanted him to be ok and healthy in his life.

Cole then said that he was moving on to the bad news portion of his promo, but delighted the crowd when he said that the bad news wasn’t for him; instead, the bad news was for the rest of the AEW locker room, because he wasn’t going anywhere and was officially back. He made it clear that he won’t stop fighting until he proves himself to be the very best, and said that he hasn’t even scratched the surface of what he is to accomplish.

The returning star then made a promise: he said that one day, no matter how long it takes, one man will be at the top of the mountain, and that man’s name will be Adam Cole.

Elsewhere on AEW Dynamite, MJF called out Hollywood stars Ken Jeong and Freddie Prinze, Jr. in the crowd inside the LA Forum. Full results and thoughts on the show can be found here.
