6 WWE Stars Released Ahead Of Crown Jewel

Triple H WWE

WWE has gone on another release spree ahead of Crown Jewel.

Over the past few days, several up-and-coming wrestlers departed the Stamford-based company following the expiry of their contracts. Meanwhile, others were released.

According to recent reports from Fightful and Cory Hays of bodyslam.net, WWE has released Brayden Ray, aka “Sexy” BJ Ray, best known for his appearance on LFG. Ray has recently undergone surgery after suffering a torn rotator cuff and labrum injury.

Summer Sorrell was also released from her contract. The former track star appeared on the second season of LFG and competed on EVOLVE. LFG & EVOLVE stars Jin Tala and Haze Jameson were also let go.

Former NXT North American Champion Released From WWE

One of the most significant names in this most recent release spree was Wes Lee. The 30-year-old joined the Stamford-based company in 2020 and has held the NXT Tag Team Championship and NXT North American Title. Lee last competed in September when he teamed up with Tyriek Igwe & Tyson Dupont to defeat Drake Morreaux, Drako Knox, and Shiloh Hill in a six-man tag team match at an NXT live event.

Lee’s opponent in that match, Drako Knox, has also confirmed his release in a post on X. Knox took part in LFG and competed on EVOLVE.

Effective immediately, I have been released from my contract with WWE. I am thankful for every person and every day I spent in that PC. I give everything I have every single day for this business! I will be available for bookings in 30 days. Email: [email protected]
