This former WWE name recently shared a gut-wrenching update about his health

Just like wrestling is nothing without its wrestlers, it’s also meaningless without its officials. Referees are one of the most crucial pieces of the puzzle that hold a wrestling match together.

One former WWE and NWA official is David Dwinell, recently shared on Facebook that he is suffering from a rare condition called paraneoplastic neurological syndrome and has moved into hospice care upon getting advised by doctors.

Dwinell sadly does not have a lot of time left, as the doctors have been unable to treat the progressive syndrome.

The former official said in the post that he has come to terms with this unfortunate eventuality and is happy having led a full life and would like to spend the rest of it being close to the people he cares about.

Sadly, treatments have been unsuccessful, my doctors have informed me that my time is very limited, and that it is time for me to transition to hospice.

While this is difficult news to share, please know, I am at peace with it. My life has been full and meaningful, rich with adventure, laughter, the love of my family, and the most wonderful friendships. Right now, my focus is on comfort, being present, and spending time with the people I care about.

In my heart, I hold a deep gratitude for each of you and want to thank you for your kindness, and the memories we have shared over the years. Our memories mean more to me than I can say. I may not be able to respond to you, but please know that every message and thought is truly appreciated. With Gratitude and Warmth, Dave.

Dwinell officiated several matches in his career, including high-profile ones with the likes of Bruno Sanmartino. He was active from the 1980s to the 2000s. He has released a book titled Ringman, chronicling his work in the wrestling industry.
