10-Time WWE Champion Confirms He’ll Never Wrestle Again
A former WWE Champion has confirmed that they’ll never lace up their boots in the ring again.
2025 and 2026 have been years that will be defined in the wrestling business for retirements. 2025 saw John Cena embark on a year-long retirement tour that featured a shock heel turn at Elimination Chamber, a record-breaking WWE Title win at WrestleMania 41, a Grand Slam making Intercontinental Championship victory, and a sad tap out to Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event to bring it all to an end.
WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg also called it quits in 2025, losing his final match to Gunther as well. 2026 began with Wrestle Kingdom, featuring the final match in the storied career of New Japan Pro Wrestling legend Hiroshi Tanahashi.
Tanahashi’s old rival, AJ Styles, lost to Gunther at the Royal Rumble, apparently bringing his career to an end. However, there is plenty of speculation that Styles will get back in the ring outside WWE.
Batista Won’t Wrestle Again In WWE
One star not getting back in the ring is Batista. Speaking to Jason Momoa, Batista ruled out ever lacing up his boots again.

Batista had his final match at WrestleMania 35 back in 2019, where he got in the ring once again with his old partner turned rival, Triple H, in a No Holds Barred match. Triple H won the bout, and The Animal had previously made clear that he did not want to tarnish the moment he got with his Evolution running buddy by ever wrestling again.
