10-Time WWE Champion Forced To Shave Head After Losing Hair Vs. Hair Match
A former WWE talent was forced to shave their head after losing a singles match.
John Morrison had a couple of stints in the Stamford promotion, during which he won 10 titles as a singles competitor as well as in tag teams.
Morrison is known for his tag team alliance with Johnny Nitro and Melina, where the trio competed as the faction, MNM. In his second stint between 2019 and 2021, he teamed up with The Miz, even becoming a tag champion on both Raw and SmackDown.
The 46-year-old is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling. He also performs in its sister promotion, Ring of Honor, and Mexican partner promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL).
Ex-WWE Star Forced To Chop Off Locks
After debuting on CMLL in late January, John Morrison adopted the name Johnny Consejo.
Following his MxM TV stable’s win over Soberano Jr. and Los Hermanos Chavez (Angel de Oro and Niebla Roja), he started a feud with Oro, culminating in a hair vs. hair match at CMLL Viernes Espectacular.
Unfortunately for the ex-WWE star, he lost the match after Oro hit him with a Frog Splash for the victory.
Morrison threw tantrums following his loss, even refusing to comply with the stipulation of chopping off his hair. It forced Oro to neutralize him with a superkick.
The official then shaved Morrison’s head in full public view.
Over the years, WWE has held a handful of hair vs. hair matches, the most popular occurring at WrestleMania 23 in 2007. The Battle of the Billionaires match pitted Vince McMahon against Donald Trump, with Bobby Lashley and Umaga, respectively, representing them.
In Lucha Libre, matches with hair stipulations hold major significance, often leading to career-altering shifts in a wrestler’s journey going forward.
