News: WWE Announces That Andrade Has Been Released

It was announced late on tonight (Sunday) that WWE has released Andrade. Here’s the statement of WWE’s website:

WWE has come to terms on the release of Andrade. We wish him all the best in all of his future endeavors.

They did not use his real name Manuel Andrade Oropeza (most people call him Manny), but the release is official. It is expected that there is the standard 90-day no-compete clause on his release. After those 90 days are up, he would be free to work for another wrestling company.

It was nine days ago on March 12 when we first posted about how Andrade had asked for his release from WWE. At the time, the release was not granted, but now it’s official.

Andrade did post a couple of tweets today to hint that the release was complete.

Andrade is engaged to WWE superstar Charlotte Flair. The couple started dating over two years ago. He is 31 years old with a lot of experience in the wrestling business.

He will likely have a lot of options in terms of where he wants to wrestle whether that’s in an American promotion like AEW, ROH, Impact Wrestling or his home country of Mexico. Japan is also a possibility.

TJR Thoughts: Best of luck to Andrade. He could have been used better and he should have been used better. He will be an asset wherever he goes next.
