5 Major Stars Who May Leave WWE After WrestleMania 42
WWE WrestleMania 42 Night 1 wrapped up with an explosive main event between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, where the American Nightmare retained his WWE Undisputed Championship against Orton.
The Usos and LA Knight kicked off the show, defeating The Vision, Logan Paul, and Austin Theory with IShowSpeed in a six-man tag team match. Jacob Fatu defeated Drew McIntyre in an unsanctioned match.
Brie Bella and Nikki Bella’s replacement, returning star Paige, defeated the Irresistible Forces Nia Jax and Lash Legend, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, and Bayley and Lara Valkyria in a fatal four-way tag team match to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Becky Lynch successfully won back her WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship from AJ Lee. Gunther destroyed Seth Rollins with a little bit of help from Bron Breakker.
Liv Morgan defeated Stephanie Vaquer to become the new Women’s World Champion, with some aid from her Judgment Day teammates Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez.
After the key developments that took place on WrestleMania Night 1, here are five major stars who might leave WWE after the premium live event.
#1 AJ Lee
The WWE Universe might not see AJ Lee for a while now after her Mania match. She was appearing somewhat regularly on Raw for the past few weeks because she was the reigning Intercontinental Champion.
Now that she has lost the title, she may go back on hiatus (she is a part-timer) before returning ahead of another major premium live event like SummerSlam or Survivor Series. She even teased taking a break at Mania.
#2 Pat McAfee
A few weeks ago, Pat McAfee announced that if Randy Orton failed to defeat Cody Rhodes to win the Undisputed WWE Championship and become a 15-time World Champion, then he would quit professional wrestling forever.
As The Viper lost his match to Rhodes, McAfee was forced to leave the professional wrestling industry permanently. Therefore, the WWE Universe might not hear from him again.
#3 IShowSpeed
IShowSpeed also will probably not be seen in WWE for a while now. He only makes special appearances around once a year. His first major appearance was at WrestleMania 40 in 2024, where he dressed up as a Prime bottle mascot to assist Logan Paul, and was RKO’d by Randy Orton through the announce table.
His next major appearance came at the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble, where he entered as a surprise entrant at number 8 and took a massive spear from Bron Breakker. WWE usually uses Speed as a major attraction only once or twice a year. So, it is very likely that his next appearance will probably take place at next year’s Royal Rumble or WrestleMania 43.
#4 Nikki Bella
Nikki Bella sustained a foot injury a few weeks ago and, therefore, was replaced by the returning superstar Paige in the Fatal 4-Way match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship on WrestleMania Night 1.
Nikki had promised that she would do her best to return and compete at WrestleMania. However, her injury did not heal in time, and she was not medically cleared by doctors to compete. Her injury and subsequent surgery might force her to go on a temporary hiatus. Hence, we might not see her on TV for a while.
#5 Bianca Belair
Just before the main event of WrestleMania Night 1 took place, Bianca Belair made a surprise appearance and announced her shocking pregnancy. Now that she is pregnant, Bianca Belair, who had already been missing from TV since last year’s WrestleMania, where she suffered a finger injury during the triple threat match with Io Sky and Rhea Ripley, won’t be back for at least another year, most likely.
