A major star’s WWE career has come to an end on the first night of WrestleMania 42.

Pat McAfee started making WWE appearances in 2018 and later became a full-time color commentator on SmackDown and Monday Night RAW alongside Michael Cole.

Although he stepped away from the company last year, the 38-year-old returned a few weeks ago to the blue brand to align with Randy Orton heading into WrestleMania.

Following his heel turn on Cody Rhodes, McAfee declared that he would leave the wrestling business if Orton failed to dethrone The American Nightmare at the Show of Shows.

Randy Orton Turned On Pat McAfee At WWE WrestleMania 42

Tonight at WrestleMania, Pat McAfee was taken out early in the match by Cody Rhodes and Jelly Roll, who made a surprise appearance.

Although he was stretchered out, the former NFL star later returned during the match wearing a referee’s shirt after the original offiical was RKO’d by Orton.

The shocking moment came when The Viper RKO’d McAfee. Rhodes capitalized on the betrayal and delivered a Cross Rhodes to his opponent to retain his title.

Since Orton failed to capture his 15th world title, McAfee’s wrestling career may now be over, per the stipulation he set before the match.
