The Rock Teased Huge Comeback News To Surprising WWE Star

The Rock on WWE SmackDown

The Rock dropped a hint of his WWE plans to an unsuspecting star.

Back in January, The Rock made his shock return to WWE, confronting Jinder Mahal on the Day 1 edition of Raw. The two men had a verbal back-and-forth before the Modern-Day Maharaja attempted to attack The Great One, only to find himself the victim of the first People’s Elbow of 2024.

During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Mahal looked back on working with Rock fondly, saying the star was “a class act.”

“I met him at his hotel and Brian Gewirtz was there. Wrote an awesome promo. When he sent it to me, I was like, ‘Can we say this? Yeah? Okay!’ – I guess for Rock anything goes.

“He just said have fun. He was excited to work with me and I was obviously excited to work with him. He’s just a class act, The Rock is amazing.

“For him to give me that moment, and especially Brian telling me, ‘We’ve got time, don’t rush’. Because I was actually short-changing myself, like ‘Maybe I’ll walk and talk to the ring’.

“He said, ‘No no no, enjoy it, have a full entrance, get some heat’. We were allotted 20 minutes, which is amazing. It was an awesome experience.”

The Rock Hinted At TKO Board Role In Voice Note For Jinder Mahal

Mahal went on to say that The Rock left him an easter egg of sorts. In a voice note thanking Mahal for their work together, The People’s Champ noted he would be seeing a lot more of him as he was “doing things all across the board” in WWE. Mahal believes this was a hint at The Rock’s new position as a member of the TKO Board of Directors.

“He actually kind of left a bit of an easter egg. He sent me a voice note, like, ‘Thank you, appreciate working with you, I’ll be seeing a lot more of you around now that I’m doing things all across the board with WWE’.

“All across the board. It didn’t click in. After a few days later, then it did, I was like, ‘That’s what he meant by doing things all across the board’.”

Unfortunately, despite starting off the year going one-on-one with The Great One, Jinder Mahal was one of several stars released from WWE in April. Before the news was made official, Mahal claimed he had actually quit the company.
