Cody Rhodes Agrees With John Cena About Specific WWE Idea

Cody Rhodes With John Cena WWE

The WWE Champion Cody Rhodes supports an idea presented by the legendary John Cena.

Since returning to WWE two years ago at WrestleMania 38, Cody Rhodes has become WWE’s top babyface. It’s a role that Cody has talked about a lot in the last two years while also referencing the fact that he used to drive around WWE’s former top babyface star John Cena while Cena was on top of the company.

In present-day WWE, John Cena is a part-timer who will turn 47 years old this year and is openly talking about retiring from the ring within a few years.

At WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes “finished his story” by becoming the Undisputed WWE Champion for the first time in his career. It was the goal that Cody had when he started in pro wrestling nearly twenty years ago and something he has talked about a lot in the last two years.

One of the men who helped Cody beat Roman Reigns in that Bloodline Rules match was John Cena, who made a surprise appearance to put Solo SIkoa through the commentary table.

As the fighting champion that he is, Cody Rhodes spent this week touring the United Kingdom with WWE in front of vocal fans who loved seeing their new champion. At WWE’s last UK PPV, Money in the Bank 2023, John Cena made a surprising appearance to say that WrestleMania should be in the UK while specifically mentioning London, England.

TalkSport reported that Cody Rhodes mentioned Cena’s WrestleMania idea after a match at a WWE live event in Birmingham, England.

“It’s beautiful to hear the ‘You Deserve It!’ chants, and please let me echo the sentiment. Tonight [in Birmingham], sold out; Cardiff, sold out; Belfast, sold out; London, sold out. If anybody deserves anything, I’m going to echo John Cena saying the United Kingdom deserves a WrestleMania.”

The WWE PLE UK return will take place on Saturday, June 15th when they run Clash at the Castle at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland.

Cody Rhodes & John Cena May Be Waiting Years For UK WrestleMania

While Cody Rhodes and John Cena might want a UK WrestleMania, it’s probably not happening any time soon. That’s according to WWE President Nick Khan, who stated that WWE plans to keep events like WrestleMania in the United States & Canada.

“We sat down together a few years ago and decided, so the big five premium live events … should be in the United States or Canada. All of the other events, the goal is to have them from international locations.”

The big five premium live events that Khan referenced are WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, Survivor Series, and Money in the Bank.
