Report: WWE Officials Are High On Prospect Of Big Cass
The team of Big Cass and Enzo Amore has taken World Wrestling Entertainment’s main roster by storm. They made their main roster debut on the Raw after WrestleMania 32 to a big reaction and haven’t looked back since. Even with Enzo Amore’s brief absence due to a concussion, he returned quicker than expected and it looks like both men haven’t missed a beat.
During Amore’s concussion and subsequent absence, it allowed Big Cass to be on his own for a few weeks. While alone, we saw Big Cass dominate in singles competition against The Dudley Boyz, and he even had a quick run-in with Chris Jericho that almost led to both men main eventing Raw. It is being reported that during this time, Big Cass turned a lot of heads within WWE as a wrestler who can hold his own as a singles star and potentially become a big asset to the company. This is according to PWInsider Elite.
Mark’s reaction: Big Cass is 7 feet tall and roughly 270 pounds. Historically, that is something WWE has always been highly interested in. However, most of the time, guys who are that big often have trouble performing in the ring; the fans can clearly see this and they’ll often voice their disapproval. What’s different about Big Cass though, is that he’s a solid in-ring worker and the crowd really gets behind him. They get behind him more when he’s paired with Enzo, but as we saw when Enzo was hurt, the crowd still gets behind Big Cass on his own.
It’s only a matter of time before WWE pulls the trigger on a Big Cass push, but I do think it’s way too soon. Him and Enzo are only 29 years old, so let them have a proper tag team run on the main roster before they get split up. Ideally, I’d like to see Enzo & Cass stick around as a team for a long time, but I doubt WWE will want to wait on giving a singles push to a young 7 footer with the fans behind him.
