Eric Bischoff Calls On AEW To Sign Former WWE Star

Jinder Mahal blur WWE logo

Eric Bischoff says AEW should snap up a former WWE star as quickly as possible.

Jinder Mahal, Xia Li, Sanga, Veer, and Xyon Quinn, were all released by WWE on April 19th. The releases came out of the blue for many, and it’s been confirmed that Von Wagner and Cameron Grimes have also left the company.

Cameron Grimes has since said he was told he wouldn’t be fired just days before being released.

Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff called on Tony Khan to sign Jinder Mahal as quickly as possible. The WWE Hall of Famer said Khan would be wise to try and cash in on the controversy around Mahal and the AEW boss after the former World Champion was given a title shot back in January. The online whirlwind came after Khan had come under fire for booking HOOK against his own World Champion.

“If I was Tony Khan, … I’d hire [Jinder Mahal] so fast,” Bischoff said. “Going back to the comments that Tony made about Jinder, that started a whole thing. It turned into internet fire for about three days or four days. It was nuts.”

Ex-WWE Stars Set For AEW Debut

It’s been announced that the Grizzled Young Veterans are coming to AEW. In an interview on social media, James Drake and Zack Gibson confirmed they’ll be debuting on the April 27th episode of Collision while calling out The Acclaimed.

The pair left WWE back in September 2023 after spending five years with the company in NXT UK and later NXT in the United States.
