Eva Marie may be back to WWE as soon as tonight’s edition of WWE Monday Night Raw. Now that’s a sentence I didn’t think I’d write in 2020, but here we are. It is being reported by Cultaholic that Eva Marie is coming back to WWE with their source telling them that Eva Marie’s return is “imminent” and could even happen tonight on Raw. There is a women’s battle royal being advertised for Raw with the winner challenging Asuka to a Raw Women’s Title match, so perhaps the return will be in the battle royal. Eva Marie, who goes by Natalie Eva Marie on social media, is 36 years old. The story has been confirmed by PWInsider as well, who notes that she is there at Raw today.
Eva Marie worked for WWE from 2013 to 2017 with a run in NXT and also on Raw/Smackdown as well. When she was hired, part of the reason was because the company launched Total Divas in 2013 and she was part of the original cast of that show. She was on six seasons of Total Divas, which also featured her husband Jonathon Coyle, they had a wedding ceremony on there, she had problems with some other women in the company and it showed the rest of her family.
In a recent interview, Eva Marie told Reel Talker’s Jim Alexander that she had “some unfinished business” in WWE.
In an interview with TV Insider in February 2019, Eva Marie hinted at a possible return to WWE.
“I’m always going to have that itch. I absolutely love wrestling. You never know. It’s one of those things where things have totally taken off for the women of WWE. They are killing it right now. I think it’s so amazing. Of course, if the opportunity arises and the timing is how it’s supposed to be, I definitely would come back to shake things up because I can always bring the heat. That’s for sure.”
There’s no word yet on if a WWE return also means that she’ll be on Total Divas again, but that’s certainly possible considering she was on Total Divas for many years. The production of shows like Total Divas has been altered due to COVID-19 restrictions, so it’s not known when that show will be coming back.
In April of this year, WWE posted a “Where Are They Now?” video about Eva Marie.
As you can see, she’s in great shape.
Eva Marie also posted a video about appearing in the movie Hard Kill as well.
TJR Thoughts: Good for her if she’s coming back and is serious about it. I have joked about her as a wrestler because of the way she was presented in WWE as a bit of a joke wrestler that would have “malfunctions prior to her matches and then she was out of the company after that. She is a natural heel, she has an impressive look obviously, I think she can be solid at promos and she works at her performance in the ring, she can be successful there too. At 36, she should still be able to compete at a high level.
I certainly didn’t expect this to happen again, but good for her coming back to WWE if it happens possibly tonight.
