Xavier Woods On The New Day’s Hiatus From WWE TV

Xavier Woods has a good reason why The New Day hasn’t been on WWE programming as of late.

The New Day might be one of the most famous trios in modern-day WWE, but all three of them have experienced quite a bit of misfortune lately when it comes to injuries.

Big E hasn’t been seen in WWE in well over a year after suffering a broken neck in March 2022. His teammates Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have tried to keep the New Day alive in his absence, but those plans got derailed when Kingston suffered an ankle injury in March of this year.

Since neither WWE nor the New Day members themselves want the trio to ever split up, Woods hasn’t been seen in WWE much either, with his last televised match being on May 15th when he lost to Dominik Mysterio.

In response to fan concerns over the entire trio’s absence, Xavier Woods spoke with Superstar Crossover and noted that The New Day will be coming back soon.

“I’ve been just getting big at home, dude. I’ve been getting huge. I’ve been doing Dungeons & Dragons appearances. We’re doing USFL appearances. And that’s the interesting thing, so we haven’t been on TV in a minute, like a month, two months? Maybe.

But the thing that people don’t see is all the stuff that we do outside of the ring and we have been working relentlessly on so many other things. And so we’ll be back in due time. We’ll be back in due time.”

Although Xavier has been working on his physique and Kofi’s recovery from ankle surgery appears to be going ahead of schedule, Big E’s future in WWE remains uncertain as he has yet to be cleared to wrestle once again.
