WWE’s Newest Monster Makes Honest John Cena Confession
John Cena retired from in-ring competition at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, 2025.
The Ring General Gunther made him tap out in their singles match, giving him a heartbreaking loss. Cena has mentioned that he will never wrestle again, but the WWE Universe still hopes that one day they might see their hero return.
Oba Femi Wanted To Retire John Cena
SmackDown roster’s newest member, Oba Femi, recently appeared on No Contest Wrestling podcast, where he commented on John Cena’s retirement. He stated that he was sad to see Cena retire and was hoping for him to wrestle a little bit longer.
He added that he wanted to wrestle John Cena before he retired and was even wishing to be his last opponent at SNME.
“I really wanted to work with John. I was really hoping and praying, ‘Don’t go, don’t go too fast.’ But he did. I was really hoping to work with him, especially when a lot of people were putting fire under the idea of me being the one to retire him and stuff like that. I was really hoping that would happen, but it didn’t,” said Oba Femi.
The WWE’s newest monster, Oba Femi, made his main roster debut on the February 6 edition of Friday Night SmackDown in Charlotte, North Carolina. He faced Kit Wilson and completely obliterated him, squashing him in the match and ending it in under one minute.
Before that, Oba Femi also wrestled as part of the Men’s Royal Rumble in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he crossed paths with The Beast, Brock Lesnar.
