WWE Allegedly Has To Change WrestleMania Plans After Top Star’s Injury
WrestleMania 42 was originally scheduled to feature Bron Breakker in a potential major match against Seth Rollins, but WWE may now be forced to change its plans due to his injury.
It was recently reported that Breakker suffered a hernia injury and underwent emergency surgery following an incident on the February 2, 2026, episode of Monday Night Raw, where he angrily flipped over the announce table.
According to internal sources, WWE was initially optimistic that Breakker could return within four to six weeks, which would have allowed him to compete in his rumored WrestleMania match against Seth Rollins. However, a WWE veteran believes that Breakker may not be able to return in time for the event.
WWE Can’t Depend On Bron Breakker For WrestleMania 42
Speaking on the February 9 edition of The Coach and Bro Show, Tom Carlucci noted that while Bron Breakker is young and could potentially recover quickly, WWE cannot rely on that possibility alone.
He added that the company should have a backup plan and structure the WrestleMania card with the understanding that Breakker may not be medically cleared in time.
I think it has to start all over again. Besides, I don’t think Punk and Reigns is going anywhere. That match is the second night’s main event. That’s not going anywhere. But now you got to rethink a lot of things that are going to be going on.
I know they had their plans all set for WrestleMania, who was going where, and Bron was a big part of it. Now he has the hernia. Will he be back? I mean, he’s young enough, and he’s in great shape. I’m sure they’ll give him the best rehabilitation possible.
So, there’s a quite possibility he might make it, but you can’t depend on that in this business, man. You got to make the card. You got to go with it. And you got to see where we’re going to go. So, it’s up in the air right now. (From 11:27)
Elsewhere, Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer stated that, based on WWE’s internal belief, Breakker is unlikely to be ready for WrestleMania 42.
