Night 1 of WWE WrestleMania 42 witnessed intense action, title changes, and retentions.

On Saturday, the evening kicked off with a six-man tag team match featuring The Vision and IShowSpeed taking on The Usos and LA Knight.

After their loss, The Vision’s Logan Paul turned on IShowSpeed and assaulted him. The babyfaces came to the YouTuber’s aid, who, with their help, put Paul through the commentator’s desk by hitting a splash off the turnbuckle.

It was followed by the Unsanctioned Match between Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu, who had been feuding since Fatu’s return to WWE in early January 2026.

Both men utilized a variety of equipment with the hopes of neutralizing the other, but in the end, it was The Samoan Werewolf who emerged victorious after putting Drew through the table with his Mighty Moonsault.

The third match of the night featured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, which witnessed the return of Paige after almost four years.

Paige teamed up with Brie Bella, replacing her injured sister Nikki, who played a role in the outcome of the match when she attacked Charlotte Flair with her crutches. Paige secured the pinfall after hitting a Rampaige DDT on Alexa Bliss.

AJ Lee was unable to retain her title against Becky Lynch, who used the exposed turnbuckle to her advantage. Reports suggest that Lee might go on a brief hiatus.

In the final three matches, Gunther defeated Seth Rollins after an interference from Bron Breakker, whereas Liv Morgan was crowned the new WWE Women’s World Champion after she defeated Stephanie Vaquer.

Cody Rhodes then retained his title against Randy Orton, who later punted Rhodes, leaving visible bruises on the champion.
