WWE Veteran Challenges Brock Lesnar: “The Rematch 24 Years In The Making”
A former WWE star has issued an ill-advised challenge to Brock Lesnar for a rematch 24 years after they first met in the ring.
WrestleMania 18 will best be remembered for the night The Rock and Hulk Hogan made the world stand still, but the night after that epic show, the wrestling business changed forever as the Next Big Thing made his unexpected debut.
With the wrestling world still buzzing about Hogan and The Rock, Raw saw the surprise debut of a young Brock Lesnar, who picked his moment to decimate WWE stars in the middle of a match. For the next few weeks, Lesnar would continue to bully and dominate in any way he saw fit.
Brock Lesnar Challenged To First Raw Match In 24 Years
This led to his first feud with the Hardy Boyz, with Lesnar coming out on top before he moved on to win the 2002 King of the Ring tournament, which guaranteed him a shot at the WWE Championship at SummerSlam. Before that SummerSlam bout with The Rock, however, he had to make it through a Singapore Cane match with the Innovator of Violence, Tommy Dreamer. To the surprise of nobody, Lesnar destroyed the ex-ECW star.
Now, one fan has noted on social media that, amazingly, that match with Dreamer was the last one Lesnar has had on Raw. Dreamer responded, noting that he’d be happy to make a rematch happen, 24 years later:
I’m in ATL that week. The rematch 24 years in the making
