WWE Tag Team On The Fence Over Triple H’s Plans To Split Them

Former Raw Tag Team Champions Alpha Academy – Otis and Chad Gable – have been a team in WWE since late 2020 but almost three years on from the team’s inception, it could be over for the pair.

Chad Gable recruited Otis to be the first member of his Alpha Academy after he cut short his run as the much-maligned Shorty G. The team’s biggest success came in January 2022 when they unseated Randy Orton and Matt Riddle for the Raw Tag Team Championship, holding that title for just two months.

On Raw, Otis has seemingly been the object of the Maximum Male Models’ affection as they look to recruit him and a new report suggests this could trigger a split in the group with Gable and Otis going in very different directions.

WRKD Wrestling has reported that WWE has had talks about pushing Chad Gable as a serious singles star while Otis would remain more of a comedy character as the newest member of the Maximum Male Models. The report notes that Gable and Otis are said to be on the fence about these plans due to their long-standing friendship.

Otis excelled as a comedy character before teaming up with Gable and parlayed that success into a Money In The Bank victory and romantic storyline with Mandy Rose.
