WWE Superstar Gunther Speaks Out After Major Royal Rumble Victory

WWE Royal Rumble is easily one of the most anticipated events of the year, and the event delivers every time for the majority of the fans, but this year’s edition featured a devastating loss as well.

AJ Styles put his career on the line against Gunther tonight, and the two wrestled an amazing, hard-fought match with each other. The match ultimately came to an end as Styles lost to Gunther, ending his WWE career.

Gunther got hold of Styles in the Sleeper Hold and proceeded to pass out the former World Champion, similar to how he ended John Cena’s career at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December 2025.

Gunther disrespects AJ Styles on WWE’s post-show

Gunther appeared on the post-Royal Rumble show, where he spoke about his recent streak of ending the careers of WWE legends. He had already retired John Cena and Goldberg before tonight.

He was asked about his night in Saudi Arabia, and Gunther stated that he isn’t fully happy with his night, as even though he defeated AJ Styles, he wasn’t able to win the Royal Rumble.

I intended to make AJ Styles tap out. I intended to win the Royal Rumble. Those two goals have not been fully achieved, but I sure as hell made AJ Styles pass out like a little b***h,” Gunther said.

Gunther almost had a perfect night tonight as he entered the Royal Rumble at number 30 and finished as the runner-up in the Rumble for a second time, falling to Roman Reigns.
