David Finlay has made his AEW in-ring debut.

David, who is the son of WWE legend Fit Finlay, made his first appearance in the Jacksonville-based promotion on March 4 on Dynamite, where he attacked Orange Cassidy and Darby Allin.

In doing so, he reunited with his former New Japan Pro Wrestling peers Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors. In Japan, they were a part of the War Dogs, known for their gritty and violent fighting style.

WWE was also reported to have been interested in signing Finlay. However, he chose AEW because his contract mentioned that he would start his journey on NXT, which was non-negotiable, according to Bodyslam.

David’s brother, Brogan, competes on the WWE developmental brand under the name Uriah Connors and is a part of the newly formed Birthright faction alongside Lexis King, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, and Arianna Grace.

David Finlay Debuts On AEW Collision

David Finlay made his first in-ring appearance on the March 7 taping of AEW Collision with Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors in a trios match against three enhancement talents.

The heels put on a dominant show and picked up a decisive win as The Dogs.

Finlay’s addition to the AEW roster is bound to reshape the landscape of the tag division soon.

In addition to competing as a member of a team, Finlay has experience in singles wrestling, too, which could see him challenge for various titles in the company, including the World Championship.

The Jacksonville promotion is building towards its first pay-per-view of 2026, Revolution, scheduled for March 15. It remains to be seen if David Finlay and The Dogs are featured on the card in any capacity.
