WWE Star Makes Shocking Return In AAA After 7 Months
WWE star Santos Escobar returns to AAA.
Those plans were halted when Escobar’s contract expired, and he officially left the company in early October 2025, which wiped out his AAA push and title opportunity.
But the company quickly moved to re‑sign him to a new, much bigger WWE contract that same month, recognizing that they had invested heavily in him and didn’t want to lose him long‑term.
WWE Star Santos Escobar Is Back In AAA
Escobar’s last AAA appearance was six months ago at AAA x WWE Worlds Collide 2025: Los Angeles, where he, Angel, and Berto (Legado del Fantasma) defeated El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Pagano & Psycho Clown.
That said, he recently returned to AAA during AAA’s debut broadcast on Fox. Escobar made a surprise return and attacked AAA Latin American Champion El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr.
Wagner Jr. was in the ring promoting his title and looking for a challenge when a masked man in an El Hijo del Fantasma-style mask suddenly walked out and interrupted him. The masked man whispered something to Wagner Jr., then quickly knocked him down with a hard forearm or blow to the head.
After laying out the champion, the intruder removed his mask to reveal that he was Santos Escobar. He then grabbed the AAA Latin American Championship belt and stared at Wagner Jr. before leaving the ring, officially putting himself on notice as a threat to the title and the entire roster.
