A WWE Superstar has recently talked about his thoughts on saying goodbye.

The former one-time world champion has been in the Stamford-based promotion for over ten years. After his recent exit from his faction, he has shed light on what it felt like when he joined the company and about his uncertainty.

WWE Veteran Speaks Up About a Major Career Decision

The former Universal Champion was invited to the Talk’N Shop podcast. Speaking to the host, Machine Gun, Finn Balor talked about the time when he made his WWE debut. He noted that he didn’t think he would ever step out of Japan. Moreover, when he did make it to the company, he thought he was just looking forward to a year-long stint.

The former Judgment Day member noted that the timing of his NJPW departure was very bittersweet since his legendary faction, The Bullet Club, was at a high point at the time. However, he said that he wanted to try other arenas for quite some time.

I think what we had in Bullet Club when I was there was a real special time. Leaving when it was that hot was kind of bittersweet. I had known for a long time that I wanted to move on, but it’s always bittersweet. And I cried, obviously, leaving New Japan. That was super emotional… I kind of always pictured my whole career in Japan up until that point. I just really wanted to roll the dice in WWE and give it one try. And if it’s gonna be a year, it’s gonna be a year, whatever, and then go back to Japan.”

Finn Balor was the founder and the first leader of The Bullet Club. Following his departure, several new wrestlers led the crew, including AJ Styles, who was the faction’s third leader. The seventh and final leader of the club, David Finlay, recently joined AEW, and the faction has now been dissolved.

Balor is still in WWE and was crowned as the inaugural Universal Champion. However, he couldn’t even hold the belt for a day owing to an injury he suffered in his pursuit to win the match against Seth Rollins. That was the only world title Balor has won so far in the company, which has now been discontinued. It would be interesting to see if another world title awaits the Irishman.
