A WWE star has commented on an incident that involved Brock Lesnar.

LA Knight’s trajectory has been on a meteoric rise ever since he made it to the main roster. At one point in time, he was receiving massive reactions from the crowd that put him on par with Roman Reigns and CM Punk. Fans are also eagerly waiting for him to win the World Title.

However, it seems like a World Title run may not be on the cards for LA Knight given how WWE has booked him in recent weeks. He has lost all the momentum he had a few years ago and is now just another wrestler on the roster. At the 2026 Royal Rumble, it looked like LA Knight could be headed for a feud with Brock Lesnar after he eliminated him from the namesake match. However, nothing came of that, and Lesnar began feuding with Oba Femi on the Road to WrestleMania.

During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, LA Knight was asked about eliminating Brock Lesnar from the 2026 Royal Rumble match. Knight didn’t go into details of what exactly happened, but he said things went differently than they were supposed to.

“I did. I’ll tell that story someday, but it feels too new and fresh to me. But I’ll just say things went differently than they were supposed to.“ [H/T Chris Van Vliet]

LA Knight revealed the name WWE originally pitched for him

LA Knight went by the name Eli Drake during his time on the independent scene. This was also the name he used during his time in TNA Wrestling. However, when he signed with WWE, his name was changed to LA Knight. Apparently, WWE had another name for him.

During the same interview, LA Knight revealed he was originally supposed to go by his previous name, Eli Drake. However, Triple H changed his mind at the last minute. He said that WWE pitched the name LA Donovan, but he hated it. They finally landed on his current name.

“They pitched LA Donovan at one point, and I was like, ‘Blah that’s awful. No, that’s so awful and terrible.’ I feel like it pigeonholes me, and it’s sh**. I’m forever a douche. I can’t do that. But you want a simple name. What do you do with LA Donovan? So finally we settled on LA Knight. Even if it didn’t work out like that, I didn’t have this [his hand gesture]…I didn’t have that five years ago, so it didn’t matter. I could have done anything. But here’s something I had already been doing that was already working. It was working in TNA. It was working in NWA. What are the chances this is going to work here? I guess it’s going to. And it did.”

It remains to be seen if LA Knight will feud with Brock Lesnar in the future.
