WWE Share Jey Uso’s Behind The Scenes SummerSlam Journey

Jey Uso WWE SummerSlam entrance

WWE followed Jey Uso in the days leading up to his huge SummerSlam match against his cousin Roman Reigns.

The match came about after Uso joined his brother Jimmy in turning his back on Reigns and The Bloodline. The pair defeated their former Tribal Chief and Solo Sikoa at Money In The Bank, with Jey being the first man to pin Reigns’ shoulders to the mat in over three years. This led to him challenging his cousin to ‘Tribal Combat’ at the Biggest Party Of The Summer.

The video shows Uso training and getting his gear ready at home. His eldest son Jeyce also made a cameo and Jey asked who was going to win the bout, but he didn’t get the answer he was hoping for when Jeyce admitted, “At this point, I think Uncle Joe [Anoaʻi – Reigns’ real name].”

Uso also explained the meaning behind his Samoan tattoos including the skull tattoo he had inked in honour of his late uncle, Umaga. He revealed that when he got his back tattoo, he knew it was like armour against Reigns.

On the day of the match itself, Uso was shown backstage getting ready for the bout with his family. You can watch the full video below.

Did Jey Uso defeat Roman Reigns at SummerSlam?

On the night, Jey gave his all against Reigns and after using all the weapons he could get his hands on, seemed to be in control of the bout. However, Solo Sikoa soon made his presence felt in an attempt to prevent Uso’s victory, making it effectively a handicap match.

Despite this, Jey was able to fight back and looked to be on the verge of victory when disaster struck as a hooded figure stopped him from getting the victory. That figure was revealed to be Jimmy Uso making a shocking betrayal of his brother. The distraction allowed Reigns to hit a Spear and retain his title.
