A Raw star is back on the shelf after they revealed that they have undergone surgery on their hip and their road to recovery begins again.
Tommaso Ciampa has not been in action since he competed back on the 17th of September at a WWE live event where he lost against Bobby Lashley. And now the world knows exactly why he hasn’t competed in well over a month.
Taking to social media the former NXT Champion revealed that he has undergone surgery to repair his hip labrum that had been causing him all sorts of pain. Ciampa paid tribute to his doctors and WWE’s medical staff as he wrote:
“The road to recovery begins. It’s a familiar road. Almost too familiar.
Special thanks to Dr Emblom and his team for taking such incredible care of me. Thanks to the WWE medical team for once again putting me back together. And thanks to my “nurses” at home for always giving me perspective.
It took awhile but we finally found the cause to all of that glute/SI/back pain. A hip labrum that “looked like shredded cheese” according to my wife, who watched the surgery.
“But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.” – Rocky Balboa 🖤
And yes, Willow insisted on dressing like a pirate for our trip to Birmingham. 🏴☠️”
In 2017 after igniting his white-hot feud with Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa was ruled out of action for almost a year due to an ACL injury in his right knee. In early 2019 Ciampa was forced to miss more time from the ring as he underwent neck surgery that saw him miss another eight months of action.
Everyone at TJRWrestling sends their best wishes to Tommaso Ciampa for a full recovery.
