WWE Monday Night Raw On May 25th To Feature Oba Femi In Big Role, Contract Signing
Oba Femi will be looking for answers on WWE Monday Night Raw, and a contract signing is scheduled.
The May 25th edition of WWE Monday Night Raw takes place just two days after Saturday Night’s Main Event and six days before Clash in Italy on Sunday, May 31st.
While this time of year may seem like a lull after WrestleMania one month earlier, WWE continues to run big shows.
At WrestleMania 42, Oba Femi got the biggest victory of his career on the WWE main roster when he defeated the legendary Brock Lesnar with the Fall from Grace sitout Powerbomb.
After the match, Brock Lesnar took off his gloves and boots and left the ring, making it seem like he was retiring as a wrestler.
It was believed at the time that few people knew Lesnar wanted to retire, even though he turns 49 this year, the same age as John Cena and AJ Styles, both of whom retired in the last six months.
One month after that WrestleMania 42 loss, Brock Lesnar shockingly returned on the May 18th edition of Monday Night Raw with a cheap attack on his rival Femi.
As Oba Femi was finishing his entrance, Brock Lesnar attacked Femi from behind. The lights came on, and Lesnar hit Femi with an F5. Lesnar hit a second F5 after that. The fans were shocked by it. Lesnar hit a third F5 on Femi. The fans chanted, “Holy S**t” as Lesnar hit a fourth F5.
To follow up on Lesnar’s attack, WWE aired a commercial during SmackDown on May 22nd, informing viewers that Oba Femi would open the May 25th Raw to address what Lesnar did to him.
It has increased the likelihood of a Lesnar-Femi rematch at Clash in Italy on May 31st, and perhaps another match at a future PLE.
As of this writing, Lesnar isn’t advertised for the May 25th Raw episode in Columbus, but that could change.
In addition to that, WWE has also announced that Raw will feature a Roman Reigns-Jacob Fatu contract signing for their Tribal Combat Match at the Clash in Italy PLE.
Oba Femi Has Impressed Former WWE Champion Big E
Big E is a former WWE Champion and Tag Team Champion who knows what it takes to get to the top in WWE.
Prior to WrestleMania, Big E praised Oba Femi for his performances going head-to-head with Brock Lesnar in multiple segments and showing that he’s a very capable wrestler, even though he hasn’t been in WWE for more than five years.
“Massive Oba feminist. I almost soiled my couch last week when I saw the ease in which this man Oba Femi powerbombed Brock Lesnar and then to see what he just did on Raw again, I am telling you this, this WrestleMania this match is for me, it is for me and I will say man, the ease in which Oba handles Brock.
I’ve spent a lot of time when Oba comes to the ring, and he’s about to face Brock. It’s not just- I’m looking at his eyes. I’m looking at a lot of things, but I’m looking at his eyes.
I’m seeing if there is even an iota of doubt, of fear, of ‘this moment is too big for me, I’m in the ring with one of the greatest to ever do it,; and I don’t see that. Maybe it’s something he’s dealing with internally that we don’t see, but this man has handled this stage with so much aplomb, with so much grace.”
WWE Clash in Italy takes place on Sunday, May 31st. Here’s the lineup so far.
* Tribal Combat Match For The World Heavyweight Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jacob Fatu
* Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Gunther
* WWE Women’s Championship: Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Jade Cargill
The Femi-Lesnar match isn’t official for Clash in Italy, but it does appear likely.
