A member of the WWE SmackDown roster with ties to The Bloodline was punished for sharing behind-the-scenes footage on social media.

Tama Tonga is a member of Solo Sikoa’s MFT group led by Solo, along with Talla Tonga, Tonga Loa, and JC Mateo. The trio of Tama, Talla, and Loa are brothers.

After being a successful wrestler in New Japan Pro Wrestling for most of his career, Tama Tonga officially joined the WWE roster in April 2024, as part of Solo’s version of The Bloodline.

To start 2026, Tama has had a lot of success in tag-team action, becoming a WWE Tag Team Champion and earning singles wins over the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura and Ilja Dragunov.

Behind the scenes, Tama Tonga got in some trouble. That’s because Tama filmed what it was like at SmackDown before the fans arrived at the building, and he posted it on his Instagram stories.

Andrew Zarian of Mat Men reported that Tama was hit with a significant fine as a result.

“Word going around at SmackDown is that Tama Tonga was fined by WWE for posting a video of rehearsals last week. Was told it was significant of a fine. WWE has an unwritten rule about not recording/posting during rehearsal.”

Critics of the fine will say that WWE shows rehearsal footage on WWE Unreal all the time, but that’s shown several months after a television show or PLE airs.

On X/Twitter, Tama posted a reaction GIF as if to say “oops” after reports of his fine went online.

MFTs Including Tama Tonga Lose WWE Tag Team Titles On SmackDown

There was a big title change on the March 20th edition of WWE SmackDown as R-Truth and Damian Priest became the surprising WWE Tag Team Champions when they beat Tama Tonga and JC Mateo of the MFTs to win the titles.

It was a chaotic finish with the Wyatt Sicks group showing up to fight with the MFTs, and that ended up costing Tama in the ring. Truth finished off Tama with John Cena’s Atitude Adjustment for the win.

Tama Tonga getting pinned to lose the WWE Tag Team Titles could be because of his filming rehearsals, but it’s also fitting for the story since the MFTs and Wyatt Sicks are likely going to be in a tag team match at WrestleMania, considering how long of a feud it’s been.
