WWE Personnel Apparently Believe Recent TV Show Was “Terrible”

A recent WWE television show was apparently criticized heavily, even by people within the company.

The March 24th edition of WWE NXT featured Tony D’Angelo facing Ricky Saints in the main event as both men tried to make a case for getting an NXT Title match against champion Joe Hendry.

That match ended in a disqualification due to the presence of Ethan Page, and the NXT Champion Joe Hendry got involved as well. After the chaos, NXT GM Robert Stone announced that Hendry would defend the NXT Title against Saints, Page, and D’Angelo at NXT Stand & Deliver on April 4th.

While some reviewers, like yours truly, felt it was an average NXT edition that didn’t really stand out, Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer Live complained about the show’s quality. In doing so, Alvarez claimed even people in WWE agreed with him that it was a terrible show.

“Oh my God, NXT. You realize that like this NXT show on Tuesday was so ungodly terrible. It was just a horrifically booked show. It was one of those things where I ranted about it, and they clipped it up on the site, and they put it up on the internet, and then you had all these fans, ‘It’s better than Collision will ever be. It’s actually a great show.’

Meanwhile, you actually hear from people in NXT that are like, ‘Yeah that show’s just terrible. It was just terrible.'”

Alvarez didn’t specifically mention how many NXT-related people gave him those opinions.

WWE Appoints Robert Stone As Full-Time NXT GM

After Ava chose to leave WWE when her contract expired earlier this year, her assistant, Robert Stone, was appointed the Interim NXT GM by NXT’s boss man, WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels.

In a post on social media, Robert Stone announced that he was officially named NXT’s General Manager.

“All right, we’re here about to kick things off at NXT Live in Wichita, Kansas, but I just wanted to say thank you so much to William Regal. Thank you so much to Shawn Michaels.

And thank you to the WWE Universe, because everyone heard you. It is official, no more interim. You are looking at right here, Robert Stone, the General Manager of NXT. And that is now set in stone.”

Robert Stone wrestled in TNA as Robbie E before joining WWE as a manager and working behind the scenes on NXT.

WWE NXT Stand & Deliver will take place on Saturday, April 4th. Here’s the lineup so far.
